Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
With us just one week away from the
official release of the hugely anticipated simian blockbuster sequel to the
powerfully successful and genre defining Rise of the Planet of the Apes, we’re
very excited. Ahead of any advanced screenings we thought we would keep anybody
not shaking with excitement up to date as to why, when and how they should be.
The Planet of the Apes franchise, to date,
consists of eight films, two television series and various books, novels and
even video games, but the series has never been more eagerly anticipated and
cultrally beloved as it is since it’s reboot in 2011.
Following the mental and social development
of the young chimp ‘Cesar’ where we witness him break down the intellectual
barriers separating primate from man, from the subtleties of correct tool usage
to the highly advanced understanding of social hierarchy and even an
incredible, heart in mouth moment of clear, competent speech.
Centered on the development of a cure for
the human affliction of Alzheimer’s, “Rise of the Planet of the apes” had all
the trademarks and iconography of a classic sci-fi movie and it is indeed that.
With clear explanation that in no way borders on the offensively convoluted,
which is a rare trait in a modern sci-fi flick.
The sequel to the amazing Rise is “Dawn of
the Planet of the Apes” Which seems to be an all out action packed
representation of the post Rise of the apes world where man is perceived to be
under threat from these super intelligent Apes and having to quell the
possibility of an Ape uprising using any means necessary.
With the clear character development and
mind blowing, dream-like scenes we’ve seen in the incredible series of trailers
released by 20th Century Fox ahead of the film’s releases, we could be and probably
are on the brink of one of the greatest science fiction films of all time.
This sequel has been a long time coming and
there is a huge amount of excitement surrounding this films release and with
very good reason.
